There is something that happens to every couple who visits Hiranya Resort for the first time with a wedding in mind. They arrive expecting a standard resort venue — some lawns, maybe a pool view, the usual things. Then they see the setting: the Daultabad Fort above, the 700-year-old lake below, the forest all around, the langurs moving through the trees. They look at each other and the decision is made.
THE VENUES:
The Grand Wedding Lawn seats up to 1,500 guests for an outdoor ceremony and reception. This is the largest of our event spaces and occupies the flattest section of the property, with the lake visible in the background. In the evening, with lighting on the ancient trees and the fort silhouetted above, it is genuinely one of the most photogenic event spaces in Maharashtra.
The Banquet Lawn seats 150 guests and is more intimate — suitable for smaller weddings, engagement parties, or the mehendi/sangeet functions that precede a main wedding. Its canopy coverage makes it suitable in most weather conditions.
The Conference Hall (60 pax) handles small family ceremonies, wedding planning meetings, or post-ceremony intimate dinners.
THE CATERING:
Our catering team has refined a banquet menu through 40+ weddings that covers all the major cuisines expected at a Maharashtra wedding celebration. North Indian, Mughlai, and continental courses form the main menu, with pure vegetarian and jain options standard. Live counters — chaat, grill, dessert — can be added. We source seasonal produce locally, which means our food tastes of the region, not of a centralised hotel kitchen.
THE PRE-WEDDING EXPERIENCE:
Many couples use Hiranya for the full suite: mehendi and sangeet two days before the wedding (Banquet Lawn), the wedding ceremony itself (Grand Lawn), and a post-wedding brunch by the lake before departing. We can also organise a pre-wedding photoshoot using the fort, the lake, and the forest as backgrounds — which most professional photographers tell us is unlike any other location they've worked in.
