A Pet Owner's Guide to Hiranya Resort: Why This is Maharashtra's Best Pet-Friendly Destination

Resort Life · 2 min read

The pet-friendly designation at many hotels means a small, reluctant sign on a single room category with a hefty surcharge and staff who visibly wish you hadn't brought your dog. Hiranya Resort takes a different approach.

We are a nature resort built on 14 acres of countryside, next to an ancient lake, surrounded by forest. Dogs in particular thrive in this environment. They can safely roam the property on leash (leashes are required throughout for safety around the langur troop), swim in the lake shore, walk the perimeter trail, and experience a density and variety of natural smells that seem to produce visible happiness in most dogs.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION FOR PET OWNERS:
A nominal pet charge per night covers two pet meals (prepared by our kitchen with appropriate ingredients) and basic pet amenities including a water bowl and mat. All pet breeds are welcome, provided they are vaccinated and manageable. We request that leashes be used in common areas — primarily to protect the langur monkey troop from unnecessary disturbance.

Dogs are not permitted in the swimming pool area for hygiene reasons, though the lake shore is available for supervised swimming.

The resort is particularly popular with Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, and German shepherds — whose energy and enthusiasm for open spaces make Hiranya's 14 acres exactly the kind of environment they need. We have also hosted cats (in rooms), a pair of rabbits, and, memorably, a parrot whose owner was travelling from Pune to Aurangabad.

For multi-night stays with pets, we recommend the poolside cottages, which have private verandas and garden access directly from the room.
